Environmental, Occupational Health and Hygiene Co-ordinator

BW Offshore is recruiting an Environmental, Occupational Health and Hygiene Co-ordinator position for the HSSE Compliance Team. Employment will be in the Singapore office.

•Establish an Occupational Health and Hygiene (OHH) assurance program in line with business objectives and industry best practices;
•Prepare OHH risk registers that identify in-country regulatory and BW Offshore requirements;
•Provide specialist advice in setting up the pre-employment medical examination requirements and random Drug and Alcohol testing;
•Conduct internal audits to ensure OHH risks are managed safely, driving improvements and gaining commitment to comply with the requirements;
•Provide specialist support to address actions raised during external OHH surveillance audits;
•Lead and/or support investigation of work related ill-health concerns and reportable diseases to identify the cause and where necessary, take appropriate actions to control the risks and prevent re-occurrence;
•Develop e-learning modules on OHH subjects;
•Contribute to sharing OHH lessons learned;
•Facilitate the Office Working Environment Committee.
•Implement OHSAS 18001 requirements and ensure processes and system are implemented for transition to ISO 45001.

•Be a registered specialist community public health nurse (occupational health);
•Long relevant experience may replace formal education.

•Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within the shipping and offshore industry;
•Demonstrate sound practical experience and technical expertise in the assessment and management of OHH risks and health surveillance arrangements;
•Have health surveillance experience relating to noise, management of musculo-skeletal disorders, hygiene and disease (e.g. legionnaires) and work related stress.

•Understanding of Project Management and Management System Principles;
•Understanding of regulatory OHH requirements and oil company standard practices;
•Knowledge of the design and function of FPSO and associated systems;
•Fluent in English (oral and written).

•The position will require temporary assignments at project premises or on board units;
•High competency in MS applications is essential;
•The position may require heavy travel and long working hours in peak periods.
