The Position

We are currently seeking a AVEVA E3D Administrator to join BW Offshore. This role is for a 12-month contract with option to extend and will be based in our Singapore office.

You are responsible for

In Projects:

Maintain and support the management of AVEVA E3D & Marine 3D:

1. Global setting

  • Configure project for global satellite access.
  • Create locations, test updating between locations.
  • Create extract databases and test their use in a Global Environment that is cloud-based (eg. AVEVA Connect).
  • Create transfer events and test transfer between locations.

2. Maintain and Support the Setup project database.

  • Maintain and support the creation and management of main project databases, including design, reference, and administration databases.
    • Design and drawing databases (Model, Padd, Isod).
    • 2D Design databases (Schematic, Engineering).
    • Reference databases (Catalogue, Lexicon, Properties).
    • Administration databases (System, Comms, Misc, Transaction).
  • Create and manage teams, users, user roles and permissions.
  • Create design DB, draft DB, catalogue DB, property DB, user defined attribute DB and appoint them a suitable DB number.
  • Create sites for each discipline and each area, and each site belongs to one single database file.
  • Assign databases to each global location.

3. Maintain and Create catalogues and specifications.

  • Create components catalogue, include instruments, valves, and special items, it goes through all model design process.
  • Create specifications according to specification file.
  • Create bolts for each flanged component.
  • Add weight information for each component.

4. Support in Creation AVEVA 3D model.

  • Instruct how to create model with correct model structure & hierarchy, and correct tag numbers, in accordance with company prescribed tagging philosophy

5. Support in Consolidation and verify AVEVA 3D models.

  • Convert disparate 3D model native file formats to AVEVA E3D compatible format and vice versa, with minimal data loss.
  • Consolidate disparate 3D models.
  • Verify, and ensure clash-free design.
  • Verify and ensure 1D and 2D data alignment with 3D model.
  • Verify as-built 3D model data by interfacing with point cloud data from leading laser scanning systems.
  • Support the ingestion of Aveva E3D models into Digital Twin visualisation tools like Aveva AIM or
    Hexagon Sdx.

6. PML macro.

  • Develop and maintain PML macros to extract data from 3D models, automate tasks and improve efficiency.

 

In Operations:

1. Maintain and update Aveva 3D models to as-built.

  • Make changes to the models to reflect changes to the Asset, such as modifications or repairs, in accordance with Management of Change procedure.
  • Use the Aveva E3D models to generate custom reports and drawings for Operations team, as required.
  • Support the ingestion of updated Aveva E3D models into Digital Twin visualisation tools like Aveva AIM or Hexagon Sdx.
  • Troubleshoot any issues with Aveva E3D models.

Corporate Role:

  • Support the implementation of the corporate strategy in extended use of AVEVA E3D.
  • Training and guidance of team members and AVEVA E3D users.
  • Support in update of AVEVA E3D procedures and manuals.
  • Support in the implementation of building corporate knowledge base and best practices.

 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Long relevant experience may compensate formal education.
  • 3+ years of experience as an E3D administrator
  • Experience working in global E3D environment
  • Experience with PML programming
  • Ideally 5 years of relevant experience within the shipping and offshore industry
  • Previous experience within the FPSO industry is an advantage.

  • The position will have temporary short-term assignments at project premises or Units.
