The position

We are currently seeking for a Senior HSSE Engineer to join BW Offshore Asset Operations team. This role will be based in the Aberdeen office. 

You are responsible for 

  • Develops and maintains HSSE procedures and forms for the FPSO and in country operational office(s)
  • As appropriate, approves or rejects Management of Change and Deviation Requests from an HSSE perspective
  • Participates in HAZIDs, HAZOPs and facilitate safety studies updates
  • Ownership and responsibility of the Vessel Safety Case
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on SECE Performance Standards review, update and development
  • Reviews incident reports and assists in identifying direct, indirect and root causes and actions to enable effective close-outs
  • Leads or participates in Incident Investigations.
  • Responsible for provision of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental advice and support to FPSO and in country operational offices 
  • Represents BW Offshore with consultants, authorities, and clients on HSSE matters when required
  • Responsible to monitor UK operational compliance to internal and relevant national and international HSSE standards and legislation

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Environmental, Technical, Marine or Process Engineering
  • Formal qualifications in health and safety management, long relevant experience may replace formal qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years in offshore FPSO industry
  • Working knowledge of UK HSE Standards and legislation
  • Experience in Safety case management
  • Previous work experience in UK Offshore oil and gas sector in an Operational / HSE role is preferred
  • Procedures and documentation development and review
  • Internal and vendor prequalification auditing
  • Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects in an operational environment
  • Classification Society and Flag State rules and regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.
