Operations Support Process Engineer

BW Offshore is looking for an experienced Operations Support Process Engineer to join our Asset, Engineering and Maintenance (AEM) team. The successful candidate will actively contribute, and provide technical and advisory support to, the Offshore Management Team in regards to process systems and relevant regulatory requirements. reporting to the Engineering Manager – Asset Operations.  

This position is an onshore position and will be based in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Driving the technical and maintenance support to operating facilities. 
  • Overall review of process performance and efficiency advising on optimisation opportunities 
  • Preparation of process deliverables in support of work pack preparation including PFDs, BOD, P&IDs and Equipment and Instrument Datasheets. 
  • Actively contributing to incident investigations, review Shutdown/Breakdown Reports and carry out Root Cause Analysis. 
  • Performing and checking process design calculations and process simulations. 
  • Monitoring and advising on the chemical injection and sampling/testing program and advising/supporting the unit when changes are required to ensure there is sufficient and cost-efficient chemical treatment on the unit, including injection rate and chemical optimisation. 
  • Providing input on asset planning and modification scopes, including engineering, fabrication, and implementation phases. 
  • Providing input on variation orders, including cost estimates and justification. 
  • Actively contributing to process discipline activities and providing input into developing and maintaining company engineering standards and best practices in the field. 

Qualifications

  • You will hold a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or Master of Chemical Engineering/ Master of Engineering Science, or similar.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred but not essential.
  • 10 years+ experience in process engineering, technical and operations support.
  • Previous offshore/FPSO experience and a strong understanding and knowledge of FPSO marine & process systems
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable Australian and International standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in process safety management, FPSO performance, third party studies and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with a well-known engineering consultancy in a similar role is highly regarded but not essential.
