Proposal Manager

For our Commercial department in Norway, we are looking for candidates for a position as Proposal Manager. The position reports to Manager Tender Development, and will take an active part in BW Offshore’s work related to tender and development.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the tender’s development (Tenders, Pre-FEEDs, FEEDs and (feasibility) studies up to award of contract in liaison with the project tender team and other departments within BWO
  • Coordinate interface with client during a tender in liaison with designated VP Business Development
  • Coordinate the submission of tender documents to client. Ensure client deadlines are met
  • Cross check the documents provided by the project tender team against the client’s ITT / ITB / Pre-Q / Market Survey documents to ensure that all technical requirements are met and strategy is followed
  • Participate in negotiations and ensure BWO internal documents are revised to suit agreements
  • Contribute to preparation of Management Decision Gate meetings (DG)
  • Support Business Development (BD) team in preparation of and participation in client meetings
  • Assist with the review of potential prospects
  • Prepare study / FEED proposals together with BD, Engineering and Projects.
  • Participate in Lessons Learned Meetings
  • Company Development: Provide input or suggestions to Projects and Engineering for R&D or other concept development activities

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or other relevant major
  • Long relevant experience may replace formal education
  • 10 years of experience within the offshore industry
  • Ideally 5 years of experience with FPSOs
  • Previous experience from managerial position in FPSO project, ideally as Engineering Manager or Project Manager
  • Previous experience with technical solutions, offshore operations in the FPSO business

  • Solid understanding of the technical, and commercial aspects of FPSO contracts
  • Knowledge of the normal subcontractors and vendors used in the FPSO business
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)


  • The position may require heavy travel and long flexible working hours in peak periods
